Barefoot is a unique fusion of yoga, art, and community, set within the serene atmosphere of the Ashtanga Yoga Centre in Fitzroy.

The event invited participants to shed their shoes and experience the grounding sensation of bare feet, symbolising a deeper connection with the earth, their bodies, and their creative spirits.

Hosting an exhibition within the yoga centre highlighted the parallel between art and yoga. Both practices can induce a state of flow or meditation. These states harmonise the mind and body, drawing us into the present moment.

The artwork, reflecting strength in overcoming cultural underrepresentation, created a third layer of meaning that sparked thoughtful discussions during the event and continued to inspire conversations in the week following the exhibition.
